Andalucia 365 handles reader information carefully and transparently. This policy explains what we collect when you use this website, why we collect it, and the choices you have. It applies to andalucia365.com and to emails we send.
Who we are
Andalucia 365 is an independent travel and living guide to southern Spain, run by Dan and Jo. For anything in this policy, including requests about your personal data, the contact is hola@andalucia365.com. We act as the data controller for the information described below.
Information we collect
We collect information you choose to give us, such as your email address when you subscribe to the newsletter or write to us, and the content of any message or correction you send. We also collect basic technical data when you browse, such as pages visited, device and browser type, referring pages, and approximate location derived from your IP address. This comes from analytics and from the server logs kept by our hosting provider.
Why we use it
We use this information to run and secure the website, to understand which guides are useful so we can improve them, to send the newsletter to people who asked for it, to reply to enquiries, and to show advertising that funds the site. Where the law requires it, we rely on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. Otherwise we rely on our legitimate interest in running an ad-supported publication, or on the need to perform a service you have requested, such as delivering a newsletter.
Cookies and consent
This site uses cookies and similar technologies for analytics, security, and advertising. If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, advertising and analytics storage is switched off by default and only enabled if you give consent through the consent message shown on the site. You can change your choice at any time by clearing cookies for this site, after which the consent message will appear again.
Services we use
The website runs on Cloudflare, which keeps standard server logs for security and performance. We use Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics to measure how the site is used, and Google AdSense to show advertising. Google may use cookies and advertising identifiers to personalise ads where you have consented; you can read how Google uses data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. Newsletter email is delivered by Resend. None of these providers is permitted to use your newsletter email address for their own purposes.
Affiliate links
Some pages include affiliate links to booking and tour partners. If you click one, the partner may set cookies to attribute a booking or purchase. We may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Affiliate links are disclosed on the pages that carry them, and our affiliate disclosure explains this in more detail.
Newsletter and contact
If you subscribe or contact us, we use the information you provide to send the requested emails, respond to your enquiry, manage subscriptions, and prevent abuse. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect immediately. We keep correspondence only as long as needed to deal with it, and subscriber addresses only while the subscription is active.
Your rights
Under the GDPR and UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to or restrict our use of it, and ask for it in a portable format. Email hola@andalucia365.com and we will respond within a month. You can also complain to a supervisory authority: in Spain that is the AEPD, and in the UK the ICO.
Children
This website is a travel publication aimed at adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children, and the newsletter is intended for readers aged 16 and over.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal data, we will update this page and revise the date below. Significant changes affecting newsletter subscribers will be flagged in the newsletter itself.
